How to Make Money Selling Feet Pics (Without Doing Anything Weird)

Anyone can sell feet pics online — even if you have ‘ugly’ feet, or don’t want to sell non-family-friendly content.

Apart from people interested in feet pics for personal reasons, bloggers like me sometimes use stock photos of feet to promote blog posts.

Some companies sell products focused around feet, skin, and toes, and they use feet pictures for product promo too!

In fact, beyond foot pics, you can get paid for pictures of your body too.

First Off, Who Are The People Who Pay For Feet Pictures?

AKA Who will you be selling feet pictures to?

In my search, I found 4 categories of people who pay for feet pictures. They include:

1. Bloggers like me and other digital publishers who use feet photos to illustrate articles and promote them on social media.

For example, here’s Goop.com using a feet photo to illustrate their article on the benefits of earthing.

2. Physical Magazines that need feet pictures for an article.

3. Small businesses that need feet photos for their advertising and product packaging.

Here’s feet pics in action in foot care brand, “Baby Foot’s” advertising.

4. People who have a ‘thing’ for feet and enjoy looking at pictures of feet.

It’s really popular, I’m not kidding.

  • Wiki Feet (10 Million monthly visits)
  • Wus Feet Links (200,000 monthly visits)
  • Love Her Feet (400,000 monthly visits)

And lots more!

How Much do Feet Pictures Sell For?

There isn’t a fixed price for feet pics. A photo can start for as little as $10 and go all the way up to $3,000 or more! It’s about figuring out how much your unique feet pics are worth.

A lot of the prices are determined by:

  • Where the photos are sold, i.e the platform you use to sell (I’ll show you a few excellent platforms in a bit)
  • Who is selling them, i.e how well-known your ‘brand’ is,
  • Who is buying them
  • And the rights assigned to the buyer.

For example:

If you sell feet pics on Shutterstock, or on a platform like Istock.com, and each IStock credit is around $10, this photo below which takes 3 credits to buy will cost around $30.

feet pics from istock.

Of course, you, the owner of the feet pic, won’t get all $30 due to profit-sharing with Istock on this.

In contrast, if you were to sell the photo on your website or store, you get all the profit!

Did you also notice that the license says “standard”?

According to Istock, what this means is that “you can use our content in advertising, marketing, apps, websites, social media, TV and film, presentations, newspapers, magazines and books, and product packaging, among hundreds of other uses. Adding an extended license lets you use our content in even more ways.”

So buyers will have to pay more for an extended license.

And photos with exclusive rights (meaning you only sell that one photo to that one buyer) will have price tags in the thousands of dollars!

Similarly, if you are selling your photo to an established magazine vs a new blogger, their bargaining power will also affect your price tag.

The best answer, therefore, is “it depends”.

How To Start Selling Feet Pictures Online

So now that you know that selling feet pics is not just some weird way to make money, let’s learn how you can make some money out of it yourself!

Step #1 Find Beautiful Feet To Fuel Your Photography

Most people who like feet don’t mind whether your feet are cute or not, but since we are targeting businesses that use foot photos, the first step is to find some beautiful feet to photograph.

Feet that are stereotyped as beautiful typically look arched with long slender toes, and of course, they need to be well cared for.

If your feet don’t naturally fall into the “pretty feet” category, no worries. You just need to find yourself a foot model. Your sister, friends, anyone willing to have their feet photographed.

I should probably mention at this point that you can expand your photo collection to include your children’s feet and other body parts too.

Step #2 Invest In A Good Camera

A photo is only as good as the lens it’s taken from right?

And if you are looking to get paid to take pictures of your feet (or your model’s feet), you need professional-looking, beautiful feet pics. You’ll need a camera with a very good lens.

Here’s a list of budget-friendly cameras you can invest in. But you can also just get started with your phone.

Most modern smartphones have really good cameras inbuilt already, and with a little schooling, you can learn how to use them to take pro-level photos.

If you would like to go with your phone, do take this course on phone photography by a successful stock photo creator.

Step #3 Start Taking Photos (How To Take Feet Pics)

If you take the course I mentioned before, you’ll already know what angles and lighting to use for the best effects. So all the technical stuff out of the way, here are some of the most popular positions for taking feet pics:

Position #1 – crossed feet

Position #2 –  on your tiptoes

Position #3 – toes pointed out

Position #4 – feet up in the air

Position #5 – soles of feet peeking out the covers.

There are lots of other positions you should try too. Just be creative and take photos for different angles and scenarios.

Step #4 Set up your storefront

The usual advice would be to join facebook groups, Instagram and twitter discussions around the topic or relevant hashtags. But since we won’t be targeting the 4th category of people with our feet pictures, here’s what we’ll do instead.

Focus on Stock Photo sites (I share some later down the page) or build your own site.

Stock photo sites typically pay by the download and if you set up your own site, you’ll typically bundle photos together for sale or sell memberships to your site.

See an example of a successful stock photo shop here.

Don’t worry, men with a thing for feet won’t be buying your photos because premium stock photos sell for higher than personal use buyers can afford.

Step #5 Promote, Rinse, Repeat!

You can use Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest to promote your photos. Remember to always watermark anything you share, and include hashtags like #footmodel and such for increased visibility!

Can You Sell Feet Pics on Fiverr?

So if you are familiar with the online gig economy and you already have a Fiverr account, you may be wondering if you should just start selling feet pics on Fiverr instead.

It looks like you can sell feet pictures on Fiverr but there’ll probably be fewer feet pics buyers on there.

Besides, unless you are creating a separate account to sell your feet pics, it wouldn’t look too good to add feet pics to the list of services you offer on your main gig account.

Also worth mentioning, the 3 pic photo seller accounts I checked out on Fiverr all had this “Looks like this service is on hold.” notification.

Perhaps selling feet pics on Fiverr is against policy so check, maybe even email them and ask before you get started.

How To Sell Feet Pics Without Getting Scammed

Selling online means it’s easier for you to get cheated out of your hard-earned money.

Here are some tips to make sure you don’t get scammed while selling feet pictures.

Sometimes, you may be attracted to lesser-known websites because they promise to take a smaller fee or help you sell for free.

Don’t fall for it!

If you sell or buy foot pictures on an unknown website, you can easily get scammed. That’s why I’ve listed all the best places to sell feet pictures in this post.

2. Don’t send feet pics until you receive payment

Always ask for payment before you send any pictures.

If customers ask for a sample, send them a blurred photo sample or a watermarked one.

Or send them to view your Instagram page to see free promotional samples.

3. Set up as a Business

Use business accounts when selling feet pics. This includes social media, your banking, and especially for accepting payment.

For example, with apps like Venmo and Cash App, buyers can reverse the payment soon after they receive your product.

But business accounts provide you with some added protection and additional levels of security that personal accounts don’t have. Actually, using a personal account to conduct business transactions is against the policy of most money transfer apps.

4. Don’t accept tips

Overpaying is another popular online scamming method you can run into. The buyer will “overpay” and ask you to wire them back the difference. They’ll also initiate a chargeback.

So, not only will they get your feet pic for free, the payment will be reversed AND they’ll get some extra money from you too. So, you’ll lose your feet pic, money, and valuable time.

So, just don’t accept overpayments and tips. If they want to send you a tip, have them send it in a separate transaction.

5. Set and state your rules

Clear rules, boundaries, and expectations will make your life easier. Let your buyers know about your rules, boundaries, and expectations upfront, so there’s no room for misunderstanding.

For example, you may state that you do not show your face or provide any photos above the ankles.

Or that you won’t send more than 2 samples. Write these and give them to your customers so they know what to expect.

Best Tips for Selling Feet Pictures (Pay attention to these)

1. Take Good Care Of Your Feet At All Time

If you are getting paid to take feet pictures, it makes sense to keep your feet beautiful and healthy at all times.

Remember to wear footwear when you step outside to avoid hurting your feet and keep it moisturized always.

Taking care of your feet will make it easier to take good looking feet photos and in turn, demand higher rates or at least get better rates for the time spent taking and editing images.

2. Understand The Best Looking Angles Of Your Foot

In addition to learning the best lighting tips (as you can learn in this phone photography course), study your feet and learn the best-looking angles.

Do they look better from a certain view? Do certain colors make them glow?

Take note of all those things and use that knowledge more often to make your photos pop.

3. Watermark Your Photos When Sharing on Social Media

It’s easy for people to steal photos intentionally or not. Make it difficult for your feet photos to get stolen using watermarks when you post on social media.

Go to this website to watermark your photos, it’s easy.

You can also blur them using phone apps

4. You Don’t Need To Have Pretty Feet.

Like I said before, you don’t need to be the model in your feet pictures.

Take photos of your children’s feet, your spouse, friends, and other family members too. Any feet can serve!

5. You Don’t Need To Focus On Feet Pics Only.

While there’s a huge demand for selling feet pics, most of it is powered by the foot-loving community, so you don’t have to focus on feet pics alone.

You can take shots of other body parts, flat lays, and different scenes too.

Bonus Tip: Become a foot model

Did you know that you can take things to the next level and become a foot model for professional photographers?

I’m not talking stock photos here, I’m talking an agent and real photoshoot bookings for company ads.

This option is definitely more time-consuming but it’s still fairly flexible and the pay isn’t bad either.

According to an expert, Top foot models can earn from $500 to $2,000 per hour. In that article, she even says that foot modeling isn’t as profitable as hand modeling which can earn you up to $10,000 a day!

So if you’ve got naturally beautiful feet, hands, lips, and even hair, here’s how to get started.

First see this video where an expert, the owner of a parts modeling firm, talks about how to become a foot or hand model.

Casting expert reveals how to become a foot or hand model | New York Post

How to become a foot model

Step #1 – Determine if your feet are suitable for foot modeling

To be a foot model, you’ll need to have the stereotypical pretty feet.

Since most of your clients will be fashion companies advertising footwear, your feet size should be around a size 7 so that you’ll be able to fit sample shoe sizes.

Slender feet, straight toes, high arch, attractive ankles, clean and uniform nails, and no calluses or blemishes of any kind, these are all expected of you as a foot model.

In addition, your legs will need to look toned as well because most shoots will capture some parts of the legs too. You’ll need clear skin with no varicose veins, scars, or discoloration.

Step #2 – Care for your feet

Once you’ve determined that you have the legs and feet on an angel, ahem model, you’ll need to take better care of them.

Most foot models exfoliate their feet frequently and moisturize upwards of 3 times per day.

Your feet will need to be protected when you step outside all the time to maintain spotless beautiful “to die for” feet.

Step #3 – Practice acting with your feet

Ellen Sirot, a top parts model, says in that article I shared before that foot modeling isn’t just about having great-looking feet.

You’ll need to be able to make your feet convey emotions too.

Start now to practice, moving your feet to convey the emotions you feel. Excitement, pain, anger, flirty, confidence…

Step #4 – Create a portfolio of feet pics

Now that you have your feet looking beautiful and know how to make them show emotions, it’s time to create your portfolio of feet pictures.

Have a pro photographer take pictures of your feet.

You’ll keep these photos organized either on your website, an Instagram page, or even in print.

Your photographer may already know this, but you should take pictures of your feet from different angles, lightings, and poses.

You may also shoot short videos of your feet in motion to increase your chances of getting more video advertisement jobs.

Check out this post to learn how to take good feet photos and the best feet picture poses to sell.

Step #5 – Signup with a Modeling Agency

Modeling agencies manage models, promote and book jobs for them in exchange for a cut in the pay.

As a foot model, you may decide to sign exclusively with one agency but it’s more advisable to sign with as many as you can when you are starting out to increase your chances.

You shouldn’t sign an exclusive contract with any agency until you are 100% certain that they’ll get you the best jobs and best pay consistently.

Also, always have a lawyer read any contracts that you have to sign before you sign them to avoid lawsuits and unfair treatment down the road.

So that’s it about selling feet pictures to make money. I hope you found this article useful.

In case you still have some unanswered questions, let’s look at some questions most people have asked before.

FAQs Around Selling Feet Pictures

Selling Feet Pics: Pros and Cons

Like with anything else, selling feet pics has its pros and cons. Let’s take a look!

Selling feet pics pros

  • Have a remote side hustle.
  • Be your own boss.
  • Earn extra money.
  • Have flexibility over your schedule.
  • Choose who to work with.

Selling feet pics cons

  • You’ll sometimes receive inappropriate requests for explicit photos.
  • Unpredictable income.
  • A low barrier to entry means fierce competition
  • No traditional work benefits

Is It Illegal To Sell Pictures Of Your Feet?

Of course not! It’s okay to sell pictures of your feet if that’s what you want to do, even if you are selling to people with a thing for feet

Once you are 18 years old and living in a country like the United States, Australia, Canada, UK, and other western countries it is completely legal.

If however, you live in a country with strict religious rules or where 20-year-olds are still considered minors, it may be considered illegal in your country.

However, the laws of legality will most likely apply if you are selling to people who have a thing for feet which in this article, we are not. If you are selling foot pics as stock photos without any nudity or sensuality, it’s completely legal most times.

How Much Money Can I Make Selling Feet Pics?

The answer is “it depends”. There is no specific number and it could be anything from $100 to $10,000 or more per month.

Depending on where and how you are selling your photos, how good your photos look, and how well you promote it.

It’s not unheard of to make five figures monthly selling feet pics if you own your own stock photo store. I have a friend who owns a stock photo store and has thousands of affiliates helping her sell her photos and memberships monthly.

Can Guys Make Money Selling Feet Pics?

Yep! Even guys can make money selling feet pics whether that’s to people with a thing for feet or small businesses looking to advertise with feet pics.

The demand, while more in favor of women because there are more products targeted to women, has a place for guys too. Check out this section of premium stock photo site getty images featuring only male feet pics to see what I’m talking about.

Does Age Matter When Selling Feet Pics?

You’ll need to be 18 years and above to legally have an account on most websites for selling feet pics but if you are asking whether you are too old to be selling feet pics, the answer is no!

Most people still have wrinkle-free feet skin in their forties and that’s all that matters most times.

And even then, there are tons of advertising campaigns looking for older looking feet for their advertising needs.

So if you feel up to it, take some pretty pictures of your feet and start selling!

Let’s take a break for a good laugh with these 3 selling feet pics memes! And wait for it, I saved the best for last. 😉

  1. I’ve heard of this before, but only really considered the feet lovers community. I’ve tried it (IG:@sugarhoneytoes), but they are really bold and sometimes pushy. I’ve even had someone try to call me on IG!! A bit creepy! I stopped posting pics, but I’m glad I found this post so now I can try other venues for cash.
